Over the last couple of years, when I have to go into the office, I have made it a habit to walk from the west side of the Conference Center so I can take a few minutes to look at the Salt Lake Temple before I cross the street to go into the office building. During these few minutes walking in front of the Conference Center, I let my mind enjoy the temple and watched with amazement as the work on it continued. Yesterday, I noticed two spires had their tops back on. Yes, there are four more to go, but it was so exciting to see these two north-side spires completed. The rebuilding of the Temple Square campus has been a fantastic thing. It was inconvenient many times, but it made me think about the need to rebuild, strengthen, and make more beautiful. As I have allowed myself to ponder these things, I have learned that this is an example of what I need to do in my life. It is a good thing to take down and remove those things in my life that are not “beautiful” and replace them with better traits. This personal improvement project is lifelong, and it can be inconvenient. But every time the work is done, a better person stands in front of the mirror.

I’m very grateful for the experience of watching the reconstruction of Temple Square and the strengthening and revitalization of the Salt Lake Temple. It has been amazing.
